For customers, Red Grocery takes variety to a whole new level and provides multiple vendors to choose from. Customers can choose from local vendors, place their order, meet the minimum order size from the vendor, and get their order home delivered, without any hassle. The platform also runs a rewards program that provides 2000 points to customers who get local merchants to sign up with the platform. These points serve as discounts while shopping through Red Grocery.
The Red Grocery portal provides a complete dashboard to registered vendors for managing inventory, creating custom alerts, and accessing in-depth reports related to the business. Joining is completely free for merchants, and Red Grocery only charges 1% on every order from vendors. Initially, the platform credits Rs 100 as joining bonus to your account and lets you accept orders worth Rs. 10,000 completely free. Post that, 1% commission is charged on every order.
“We have established a unique feature of monthly shopping list that lets customers make a monthly grocery shopping list and order it with a single click.” said Saurabh Chadha, co-founder of Red Grocery. “Customers can upload daily, weekly, or monthly lists and order them instantaneously, thus reducing the additional overhead of ad-hoc shopping and replacing it with carefully planned shopping.”
The portal offers a simple method to register online and verify your details. Although the platform only supports cash-on-delivery at the moment, it is in the process of adding credit card and debit card functionality to the portal.
In the coming months, Red Grocery also plans to initiate an initiation program to build its initial base of vendors, merchants, and customers.
